The etymology of the word blouse is of French origins and gained a foothold in the Swedish language sometime in the 18th century. Originally blouse meant a shirt-like work garment, but in the course of history blouse has come to also mean fashion garments. And don’t’ you think the fashion sense is obvious in our blouses?
